Queen Louise Home for the Aged

This transformative project marks a major milestone in the Rebuild USVI initiative, a territory-wide effort led by the Office of Disaster Recovery to restore and modernize public infrastructure damaged by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. 

 

The multi-site project will modernize healthcare and senior care facilities across St. Thomas, enhancing access, resilience, and quality of life for St. Thomas’ residents. Approved by the Public Finance Authority, the St. Thomas Healthcare Bundle includes:

​

  • Rebuilding the Knud Hansen Tower and Knud Hansen Building

  • Demolishing the outdated mental health building

  • Renovating the John S. Moorehead Municipal Complex

  • Building the new Queen Louise Home for the Aged
